Rahul Kanwal (27) is the editor of Headlines Today. He holds the distinction of being the youngest person to head a news channel in the country.
Under Rahul's leadership, Headlines Today has been repositioned as a news channel that targets the young Indian. Apart from managing news operations for Headlines Today, Rahul also fronts a daily prime time news show 'Centre Stage', which is the flagship news broadcast of Headlines Today.
Rahul began his career with Zee News in 1999. He was the youngest news anchor and reporter for the network. Apart from business, Rahul also reported on the Kargil war and its aftermath. Rahul also covered elections in several states including Kashmir and conducted investigations into corruption in the purchase of military hardware from Russia.
Rahul is the youngest ever Chevening scholar and has done a course in Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff University in the UK. He is also a recipient of the Rory Peck award for a course in hostile environment journalism.
Before taking over as editor of Headlines Today, Rahul was a prime time news anchor and the defence and external affairs correspondent for Aaj Tak. He is among the handful of truly bilingual anchors in the country.
